okehampton show livestock Okehampton Show is one of the largest gatherings of animals at a one day event in the South West - with 320 classes for Cattle, Sheep, Pigs, Dairy and Pygmy Goats it is a marvellous showcase for quality livestock in this part of the country.

All Exhibitors who entered last year will be sent a Livestock Schedule at the beginning of May.

The Livestock Schedule and entry forms will be on the website from early May. The closing date for livestock entries is Thursday 14th July.

Pigs

Morning Judging – Mr M Snell, Yeovil, Somerset
Afternoon Judging – Mr J Newth, Castle Cary, Somerset

This section is very popular with the public, particularly when we are lucky enough to have some piglets in the marquee. A new section has been added this year for Kunekune pigs, which are a breed increasing in popularity.

Dairy Goats

Judge: Mrs. V. Hardy, Kirby in Ashfield, Notts

This marquee is a hive of activity from the day before the Show when goats arrive on the Showground to take part in the Milking Competition. There are 27 classes offered to Exhibitors - see Schedule for full list of classes.

Pygmy Goats

Judge: Mrs. V. McNeil, Epsom, Surrey.

Pygmy Goats made a very successful first appearance at Okehampton in 2009 and the judge was most complimentary about the Show, stating in the Pygmy Goat Club Newsletter ‘This is a show that deserves to go from strength to strength’.
