The 103rd Okehampton show will take place on Thursday 12th August 2010 at the Stoney Park Showground, Holsworthy Road, Okehampton.
Last years Okehampton Show was a resounding success! Good weather (not too hot),
plenty to do and see all around the Showground, excellent shopping and, above all,
a wonderful day out at a traditional agricultural show in a truly beautiful location.
The horses, livestock and other animals were the stars of the day. From huge Heavy
Horses to tiny Miniature Shetlands, cattle & calves, sheep & lambs, pigs & piglets,
goats, poultry, rabbits and pigeons every section was bursting with visitors.
Dogs are very welcome at the show as long as they are on a fixed lead.
The Devon Food Hall, Craft Marquee and Open/WI section were all very busy and all the
exhibitors were very pleased with the business carried out on the day.
It takes a lot of hard work by a team of dedicated helpers to put on this terrific day
out - we know it is all worthwhile because people have taken the trouble to write and
say how much they have enjoyed themesleves at past shows:
"Would you please pass on the sincere thanks of many, many people including myself and
my friends who came up from Teignmouth, for a wonderful Showthe organisation, the hard
work and the support of so many which made this such a success. The Best Ever I was
proud to be a Member." (Member of Okehampton Show)
"Okehampton Show was brilliant again, the whole operation runs like a very slick, well
oiled machine but I know that this is only because of the dedication and very hard work
of many individuals." (Okehampton businessman)
"I thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a rural, and may I say truly agricultural,
Show with such a splendid turnout of livestock. A credit to you all!"
(Judge)
"We would like to thank you all for the great job done in putting on the Okehampton
Show. It was our first year as an Exhibitor and we were very pleased with the
organisation before and on the day, the pitch allocated for our display and with
the response we received from the public. We would like to come back again next
year with a larger site!" (Trade Stand exhibitor)
